There's some positive news coming out of Waltham this afternoon, regarding Kendrick Perkins. From the Herald: On Tuesday, Perkins ran sprints the width of the court with the rest of the team during the portion of practice reporters were watching. Perkins said doctors told him he would be ready to handle contact in practice in about a week. He is shooting for the third exhibition game, on Oct. 11, to get back in uniform. But Rivers said he wanted to hold Perkins out for four exhibition games, meaning he would return Oct. 16. The coach said he wasn’t worried about Perkins’ availability for the Oct. 28 opener.
