Who's going to backup The Truth? PDF Print E-mail

Now that Grant Hill is off the board, who will the Celtics target to be Paul Pierce's backup? Sure, Bill Walker is still on the roster, but he hardly seems ready to assume the backup role to Pierce. So, here's a look at some of the the SFs still available in free agency:

Matt Barnes

Rodney Carney

Marquis Daniels

Joey Graham

Rashad McCants

Bostjan Nachbar

I have left the likes of Gerald Green off the list, andI've always had a soft spot for Rodney Carney. I'd love to see him picked up, but it's still slim pickins from the free agent farm. And with the Celtics having little to spend in free agency, the backup is just as likely to come via trade (using Scale and Tony Allen's expiring contracts). Regardless, there is a gaping hole at the backup 3-spot as of right now, so it'll be interesting to see what Danny Ainge comes up with to round out the roster.
