This isn't really news, I guess. After all, someone on the bench is going to have to take over Posey's role to some extent. Sounds like it might be Leon Powe. From the Herald: But Rivers is hoping for someone from a group that includes Powe, Davis and Tony Allen to show command capabilities. Judging from Rivers’ reaction, bench leadership is going to be a long-term project. But according to Powe, Posey and Brown passed on a sizable amount of wisdom to their younger teammates. For the aggressive, inside-oriented Powe, this was especially true in the defensive end. Posey, despite his game-changing talent as a 3-point shooter, may have taken even more pride in drawing charges. He led the team in that category last season, and often sparked the team with his ability to take the steam out of a drive by a Kobe Bryant or LeBron James. Powe, inspired by the 30-year-old swingman, got into the act early in the season, and ended up second on the team behind Posey in charges taken. He looks forward to finishing at the top of that list this year.
